The manufacturer of electronic devices, the company Freescale, had a hand in many types of gadgets and home appliances. Different types of modules produced by this company can be found in e-readers, smartphones, tablets and even in refrigerators. Produces this company and the whole gadgets, not just modules. Recently, Freescale representatives announced a universal medical platform for monitoring the health status of a single person in real time.
The device is called Home Health Hub (HHH). In itself, it can not collect information, the platform serves to connect different types of modules, combined with the help of HHH. Data collection, which is logical, goes over the wireless network. The platform is based on i.MX28, and is equipped with communication modules such as WiFi, Bluetooth ,, Zigbee, plus standard Ethernet. According to the developers, the data transfer is in a safe mode, that is, the network is protected from interception of information. Understandably, there is always a certain likelihood of hacking, there's nothing you can do about it.

Freescale is trying to get other manufacturers interested in their idea, so that companies of all kinds create modules for the platform. Among other modules, devices can be created to determine blood pressure, determine glucose, oxygen and other levels.
According to experts, such a device, being widespread, can significantly reduce the cost of medical care for patients, especially those who suffer from any chronic disease. By the way, if something happens to the patient, that is, the device “notices” a significant deviation from the norm, and the patient does not respond to the signal, the alarm system is turned on, sending a signal to the specified address (well, for example, 911 - in the case of USA).
The cost of the platform together with the software is 499 US dollars. Now only this platform is available, but in the future it is expected that the market will also receive wireless devices for monitoring patient vital signs.
