November 16, the official Google Web Toolkit
blog has the
news that the Google Plugin for Eclipse (GPE) is now an Open Source project. The GWT Designer project has also become open. Projects use the Eclipse Public License (EPL) 1.0 as a license.
All GPE code is now available on
the plugin page , as well as the GWT Designer source code, which is also laid out on
Google Code . Recall that GWT Designer is based on
the WindowBuilder
project , which has been open since 2010.
In the near future is expected to expand the range of committers plugin.
Of course, this news is a pleasant surprise from Google. Let's hope that in the future the plugin will develop and make the life of developers even easier and more convenient.
