On Habré more than once and not two have already written about miniature PCs. Especially everyone liked the
Raspberry Pi PC for $ 25. But Cotton Candy, while not exceeding the size of a $ 25 contender, can boast a more powerful configuration. So, inside the case that you see in the photo, there is a dual-core ARM Cortex A9 processor, with a 1.2 GHz operating frequency, ARM Mali 400 MP GPU, WiFi and Bluetooth wireless modules, plus a slot for micro SD memory cards (supported media up to 64 GB). Works "sweetie" based on Android 2.3.
At the exhibition, where the device was shown, two copies were presented. The first was connected to HDTV, the second - to the MacBook Air. When connected to a TV, the device must also be connected to an additional power source. Everything works fine, a large TV, to which this mini-computer was connected at the exhibition, turned into a large Android-based computer. Even a demonstration of HD playback went well, according to the exhibitors, there were no lags and slowdowns.

As for the MacBook Air, Cotton Candy was tested on it as a base for Angry Birds. The tests were also successful.
The only negative point in all this is that the new computer is not certified by Google, which means that it does not have direct access to the Android Market. But what to do, there are always some disadvantages. Perhaps after some time, device manufacturers will be able to get permission from Google.
And yes, another problem is the price. While the Raspberry Pi PC was sold for $ 25, the “sweetie” will be sold at $ 200, that is, its price is 8 times higher. The start of sales is scheduled for the second half of 2012.
According to the manufacturers, their device can be used to easily turn ordinary TV (for example, in a hotel room) into a fairly powerful computer. True, at the same time you will have to carry a keyboard with a mouse. But you can use small wireless devices, and this is more convenient than carrying a laptop.
