After more than a year of development, the final release of
jQuery Mobile 1.0 based on jQuery 1.6.4 has been released (jQuery 1.7 support will appear from jQuery Mobile 1.1 version). This framework was created to develop websites with a touch interface using familiar HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Tools like PhoneGap make it easy to transform an HTML5 website into a mobile application and distribute it through application stores.
The mobile version has come a long way: from the first alpha on October 15, 2010, through five alpha versions, three beta versions and three release candidates. And here is the final release, which has been tested on
all mobile platforms . A variety of platforms was the main task that developers had set themselves, so that websites worked on all smartphones, tablets and readers without exception.
The new framework is well received by developers of mobile applications and websites. Suffice to say that during alpha and beta testing,
eight books on jQuery Mobile have been published, many plug-ins, extensions, frameworks and other tools have appeared, not to mention countless articles and reference guides. The developers say that they themselves were stunned by such public interest in jQuery Mobile. In the

you can see examples of sites and applications made using jQuery Mobile.

Simultaneously with the release of jQuery Mobile 1.0, the new
ThemeRoller for Mobile tool for visual design of a mobile site / application without CSS knowledge is introduced.
The final release was released just a few days after the third release candidate (
changelog ). Compared to RC2, performance on various platforms has been improved by at least 30-50%, and even more on complex pages.
