StatCounter: Chrome caught up with Firefox and PC World's opinion of Internet Explorer 9

According to StatCounter's November statistics, the struggle of the two closest competitors - Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome - got a new round of development: Firefox losing its audience caught up with Chrome gaining strength at around 25%. The fact that the dominant Internet Explorer has lost the psychological 50% was written some time ago on Habré, and StatCounter has fully confirmed this fact, giving the Microsoft column a share of about 40% of the market.

Traditionally, Safari and Opera browsers are quite far from competitors on a global scale, demonstrating about 6% and 2%, respectively.

In the Russian Federation and Ukraine, statistics are quite similar to each other, but are very different from global statistics.

First of all, the share of Internet Explorer is declining, although more smoothly than in the whole world, and is now at around 19%. But the share of the browser of the search giant for the year grew quite sharply - from 10% at the same time last year to just over 24% in 2011.

The leaders in the CIS (Russia and Ukraine) are Firefox and Opera with data coverage of 29% and 25%, respectively, and the tendency of a decrease in the share of both reviewers is quite noticeable. This is likely to be in favor of the increasing popularity of Google Chrome.

In this regard, Microsoft's statement, published here , looks curious, the meaning of which is that “Internet Explorer 9 has become the only browser included in the list of the hundred best products of 2011 by PCWorld.”

The latest version of Internet Explorer is light and fast. The browser has better protection, supports HTML5 and graphics acceleration. “Microsoft's browser is an excellent competitor for pop-chrome or Opera”

- this characteristic was given by Internet Explorer 9 by experts from one of the most respected publications in the world.
