November 17, 2011 in St. Petersburg will host the presentation of the international competition for students and schoolchildren
ThinkQuest 2012 . The competition is organized in St. Petersburg by ITMO and the Innovators Club.
Students will be asked to write an essay about one of the problems they face in everyday life: uninteresting computer science lessons, terrible condition of the roads, leaking ceiling in the classroom, expensive subway travel, etc.
We decided to support the contest participants and their teachers and announce a mini-grants program aimed at supporting school teachers and university professors wishing to take part in the competition.

A teacher who submitted 10 and an essay from students from his team will be awarded a grant of
4,000 rubles . The most active schools and universities will receive 10,000 rubles each. The author of the best essay in the city will receive 5,000 rubles.
What is ThinkQuest?
ThinkQuest is an international competition that offers students (schoolchildren and students) under the age of 22 to measure themselves in solving practical problems by applying creative thinking, teamwork and technical knowledge - the skills needed in the 21st century.
Participants work in teams consisting of a leader and students (from 1 to 6 people). By participating in the competition, they solve any problem from real life. The solution to the problem can be presented in various forms: website, animation, blog or magazine, application, photography, video, etc.

What opportunities does the competition offer?
- Communication and exchange of experience with 46,000 schoolchildren, students and teachers from 52 countries
- Each participant will receive a certificate of participation in an international competition.
- The winners will receive valuable prizes: laptops for the whole team, cash grants for institutions, trips to San Francisco, diplomas and much more
- Participants from 18 years and older, who won prizes, will have the opportunity to do an internship at Oracle
