Google Music may be officially opened next week.

Google Corporation a couple of days ago sent out invitations to some kind of press conference held jointly with the Universal Music Group. The conference will be held in Los Angeles, and the conference theme is a new music service from Google. The launch of Google Music has been postponed all the time, but now, as far as you can understand, the music service is starting to work. True, while the partner of the corporation Google is Universal Music. This company is indicated as a co-organizer of the conference.

With the same company, the Corporation of Good has signed a cooperation agreement, that is, it has received the right to use the tracks, the rights to which belong to Universal Music, in its service. As for Sony Music Entertainment and Warner Music Group, negotiations with them are less successful, and Google representatives are still trying to negotiate with these guys. In addition, it is unclear whether a group of companies like EMI will work with Google.

The other day it was reported that Universal Music buys the assets of the EMI Group for 1.9 billion dollars. It may well be that having signed a cooperation agreement with Universal Music, Google will have access simultaneously to the music library, the rights to which belong to EMI.

Earlier, Google launched Google Music Beta (US only) without an agreement with record companies under licenses for music files, and this can be a stumbling block when trying to negotiate with the copyright holders. But there is another option - since an agreement with Universal Music already exists, Google will remove all materials for which the corporation has no rights, and will initially only use music for which Universal Music (and maybe EMI) owns. In any case, next week, on Wednesday, we will learn about all this in detail.
