Another Google purchase: Katango startup

In addition to the company Apture, recently purchased by Google, "Corporation of Good" made another acquisition - Katango. Unlike Apture, for the most part a search startup, Katango has been developing solutions for all sorts of social resources. It is worth noting that this company was opened only two years ago, and since then has been able to become quite successful.

Among the core tasks of Katango is the development of a special type of software that allows you to automatically identify "friends" on social networks to certain groups. In general, the work of Katango was quite close in spirit, so to speak, to circles in Google plus. Interestingly, Google has already made an offer to a startup for quite some time, and, apparently, now the Katango management has given the go-ahead to the deal.

This year, Katango has released an application for the iPhone, which allows to create user groups among the contacts of the device owner. This application allows you to set some restrictions on the distribution of your own content among friends and acquaintances.

Both companies have already made a joint statement about the purchase. That Google representatives, that Katango representatives express joy about the collaboration. Actually, this deal is really beneficial to both parties. Google gets technology and capable developers, and former Katango employees are joining Google.
