An interesting device recently presented by Motorola: the docking station for the DROID RAZR turns your smartphone into a full-fledged laptop. The docking station looks like an ordinary laptop, but it doesn’t seem to work independently. The presented device was named Lapdock 500 Pro. According to the manufacturer, this docking station will be compatible with future models of Motorola smartphones. And yes, this is no longer a concept, such as
Nokia Gem , but quite a real device.
Motorola representatives believe that the docking station is much more convenient than most laptops, because this device has a sufficiently large display with a small thickness of the device. In addition, the docking station is much lighter than most laptops (its weight is 1.5 kilograms). The developers believe that the Lapdock 500 Pro can be used at home, in the office, in the cafe, and at the airport. In general, everywhere.

Here are the characteristics of the docking station:
- 14-inch display diagonal (1366 * 768 pixels);
- full-size keyboard with special buttons to control the Android OS;
- SD card is used as data storage;
- there is a front webcam;
- 2 USB ports, 3.5 mm port for headphones, VGA output, Ethernet;
- Dimensions 337.5 x 249.8 x 21.9 mm;

It is not yet clear if the Lapdock 500 Pro is compatible with the Motorola ATRIX 2, PHOTON 4G, and DROID BIONIC. Actually, so far neither the price nor the release date of the device on the market is also reported. Of course, it would be nice if the cost of the product was less than the cost of a regular laptop or a more or less powerful netbook. Otherwise, the usefulness and relevance of such a device is questioned.
