Are you arrested? There is an Android application for this.

Brooklyn programmer Jason van Anden made a wonderful Android application, indispensable for all citizens who are at risk of arrest. The program I'm Getting Arrested allows for a couple of seconds to send SMS to everyone you have listed in the list: wife, friends, the boss at work and a lawyer. The text of the message and the list of numbers should be indicated in advance. According to reviews from users from Russia, numbers with the +7 prefix also send messages normally.

Jason van Anden wrote the program after his girlfriend was detained during a protest of Occupy Wall Street in New York. She will probably help some of the activists on the next day of mass protests , scheduled for 11 November.

Usually, the arrested person has a few minutes to secretly call and report what happened during the escorting or waiting at the police station, but often the police do not give a call. In such cases, this program saves the situation - simply press the "panic button", holding the phone in your pocket.

Perhaps some of the developers will be able to make a similar utility with the automation of other actions, so that at the touch of a button you can not only send SMS, but simultaneously post a message on Twitter and on Facebook, with the same content.

Generally, if the program sends the same text on the list of numbers, then it can be used in other critical situations.
