Often you heard jokes that, against the background of “free” tariffs, mobile operators will soon pay extra to subscribers, so that they use their services. However, in reality everything is not so cloudless - I would like to draw the attention of the Ukrainian part to the respected audience Habr on a new turn in the tariff policy of MTS-Ukraine: from November 15, subscribers of this operator will pay 3 kopecks. for each confirmation of the delivery of SMS. The company itself justifies its decision in the following way:
According to the official statistics of MTS-Ukraine, in the first half of 2011, subscribers sent more than 2 billion SMS messages, which is 20% more than in the same period last year. The share of subscribers using the delivery report service is estimated ( cannot this fact be determined more precisely? ) At 60-70%. Thus, the introduction of fees for this service will bring MTS about UAH 36 million of additional income, which is 8% of the revenue from SMS services for the first half of the year, or 0.6% of the total revenue.
Thus, you can only advise to customize your phones or smartphones in such a way as to avoid subtle, but in general, still significant costs.
