Hi Habr!
I recently hooked on your website, in particular, the section dedicated to iOS development. I have been doing this professionally for 5 years now and have seen a lot. Now I decided to share my experience, maybe someone will find it useful.
First about the most unpleasant. Many have already written about this here because I will describe the most important, from my point of view, problem - this, of course, is the process of application validation. Over the years I have seen quite a few editions of this, perhaps the most important document for any developer (
App Store Review Guidelines ), but sometimes it just comes to the point of absurdity. For example, a client came recently: “Make me a very simple application. I want a picture of an electric razor to vibrate and buzz + advertisement. ” Work for an hour, two, especially not straining. I did it, I uploaded it on iTunes, we are waiting for 5-6 days ... Rejected, they say it is too simple and does nothing:
It does not matter, added a couple more rubbish and nonsense. But I want to say right away, life has taught and I feel the approach of such moments even at the stage of discussion of the project.
I have written programs in appstore, probably more than 50 lying around, of which about one-third had problems at this stage. And these are only those that I know about, but in fact the statistics are even more sad.
Now they are trumpeting everywhere about the new iPhone, Siri ... The other day, I got a
website , caught fire, decided to write a similar program for the iPhone. In due course, and with desire, I always had a hard time on my projects (as the saying goes, a shoemaker, yes without boots), because I threw everything I could out of it, leaving only the main thing. Somehow I assembled the interface on Photoshop and sent it for validation.
The result was
not long in coming.

- 8.1: Guidelines for Apple Trademark Products List
We found that your app doesn’t comply with your trademarks and copyrights.
Specifically, your app includes Apple Trademarks , namely Siri .
I removed all the words "Siri", renamed the prog, changed the description to only refer to their trademark, added the Terms Of Submission ... The same message comes, without any explanation. To be honest, at this stage I am ready to abandon it, like the other three from my list.
I have several more such examples, but despite all this I want to say, the development for this platform is a very entertaining occupation, which completely provides me and feeds, and also remains for gasoline for a two-wheeled friend.
