The court acquitted the former owner of AllOfMP3

Denis Kvasov, the former head of the Mediaservices company, which owned the AllOfMP3.com portal, was acquitted by the Cheryomushensky Court of the city of Moscow. He was accused of violating copyright and related rights under article 146 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, but the court found the guilt of the former owner of the site unproved. The case was initiated on the basis of an appeal filed by the Moscow office of the International Federation of Phonogram Producers.

Kvasov was accused of illegal use of phonograms totaling 54 thousand rubles. A lawsuit against the former owner of the site was filed by the largest record companies: Emi, Warner and Universal, who estimated the damage from Kvassov’s post as head of Mediservices at 15 million rubles. Under a different court decision, would Kvassov be threatened with not only a fine, but also imprisonment? up to three years.

The portal AllOfMP3.com was closed in early July 2007, which, according to unconfirmed reports, occurred under pressure from the authorities.
