All-Russian competition Code4Russia - a chance to create a meaningful and effective project

The project Gov2People and Alena Popova represent the All-Russian competition of developers in the field of electronic government Code4Russia .

In November 2011, the All-Russian “Code for Russia” competition starts among developers of mobile applications and web projects based on open government data. The teams of participants will not only program, but create socially significant and effective projects that solve the problems of the residents of a particular region.
The competition will be held in various regions of Russia throughout the year. Code4Russia starts with the city of Krasnodar and the Republic of Tatarstan .
The main goal of the competition: to draw the attention of the IT community and government bodies to civil projects in the field of e-government and in practice to show that creating working and accessible mechanisms to solve problems in the region is real!

The mechanics of the contest "Code for Russia"

The region participant determines the range of problematic social issues that need to be resolved and issues technical tasks for the competition. During the month, teams of participants, using open data, program various kinds of interfaces (both web and mobile applications), with the help of which the problem can be solved.
During the entire period of the competition, teams can work closely with the expert council formed by representatives of the IT departments in the region, which conducts a final assessment of the provided interfaces and determines the three winners of the competition.
The winner receives not only a cash prize in the amount of 100,000 rubles, but also transfers his project to the ownership of the region, in which he will later be used and supported by state structures. Thus, projects implemented within the framework of the competition become not just a set of code, but a working mechanism for solving the problems of civil society.

Nomination "The best application on the platform of Windows Phone 7."

Within the framework of the Code4Russia contest, AppProfessionals.ru portal together with Microsoft presents its nomination “The Best Application on the Windows Phone 7 Platform”. The winning team will receive a gift from HTC with the Windows Phone 7 operating system.

Why participate in the competition?

Any social problem must find its solution. One of such decisions can be a civil project, in the creation of which any programmer can take part. And thus, each participant contributes to solving important and significant problems, creating affordable projects for residents of the region.
Who can take part in the competition?
Individual developers and teams, teams of universities and individual companies can take part in the competition. Applications for the first stage are accepted until November 15.
