New mobile Yandex.Maps for Android contain an interesting feature: showing devices for fixing speed. Or, more simply, video cameras and radars that measure the speed of movement. We hope that this will help motorists to move with the established speed.
We know about some cameras in advance - they are known, and information about them has long been uploaded to Maps. Others have to be determined on the go.
The definition of such cameras and the output of information about them occurs in the following scenario: while driving, the application downloads data from the network and determines the vehicle speed. The application analyzes the points and reports the approach of cameras depending on your direction and speed.

In this release, for the first time, users will see conventional radars on the map, and not just video devices.
The fact is that cameras with speed registration (tripods) operate according to the WiFi Hot Spot principle, to which workstations are connected. While driving, the application scans WiFi and, when it detects such a network, informs the user about the object.
Next, the application begins to analyze the signal strength. In the place where it is the strongest, and there is a camera. This point is set on the map and will continue to be visible to all drivers approaching it.
We report about the approach of the camera for about 500 meters, and not only visually - on the map - but also with a sound signal.

Data is updated every three minutes, or more often, if the map is moved from the screen. Therefore, you will see the latest data on the cameras.
