The other day, Apple lost the case of the tiny NT-K company that makes Android tablets. The court found that the iPad violates the intellectual property of the Spanish manufacturer, and refused to satisfy the claim of the American company. The Spaniards said that Apple itself has asked for, and are preparing an impressive claim for damages and defaming business reputation.
And today, Apple started having more serious problems. A German court acknowledged that Apple infringed two patents (the
first patent explains the fundamental features of data transfer, and the
second concerns synchronization) to Motorola Mobility, and Apple is guaranteed to pay an impressive fine, and will also pay deductions. Or the outcome with blocking sales of Apple products in Germany, as well as, probably, a number of other European countries, is quite likely. The preliminary court
decision itself, thanks to
Florian Mueller for the information. Google campaign has a chance to get not so useless patents, just able to fight off Apple's accusations.
UPD.Since there was no official reaction between MMI and Apple at the time of this writing, I’ll give it now. Thank you to
EntropiouS for the link to
Verge , which says that Motorola Mobility won Apple Inc. in court, which does not sell anything in Germany, because Apple subsidiary Apple Germany is engaged in sales of products, and its judicial decision does not apply. Thus, the sale ban most likely will not, because there is nothing to prohibit. Florian Muller ironically
apologized for the inaccurately provided information.
