Officially presented tablets Xoom 2 and Xoom 2 Media Edition

This is definitely not the most shocking news of the day, but nonetheless: today, Motorola officially unveiled the Xoom 2 and Xoom 2 Media Edition tablets. Xoom 2 is equipped with a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, Android 3.2 operating system, 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal memory and a 10.1-inch display with a Corning Gorilla Glass coating. Motorola does not specify the type of display, but it seems that this is IPS, since the stated viewing angles are 178 degrees. A proprietary MotoCast application is pre-installed on the device, which allows you to share music, photos, and other content between your tablet and computer without additional tools, programs, or wires.

Tablets have almost a complete set of communication options - modules Wi-Fi b / g / n, Bluetooth and GPS. Both devices are equipped with a 3.5 mm headphone jack, microUSB port and HDMI. The autonomy of the Xoom 2, according to the manufacturer, is 10 hours, and the Xoom 2 Media Edition is only 6 hours. There is no information about 3G support, but judging by the experience with the Xoom, Motorola should have models with this option.

The dimensions of the Xoom 2 are 253.9 x 173.6 x 8.8 mm, the Xoom 2 Media Edition is 139 x 216 x 8.99 mm. Weigh tablets 599 and 386 g, respectively.

At the time of the start of sales of these new products, a Work and Play kit consisting of a Bluetooth keyboard, a docking station and a stylus will arrive on the shelves. For these tablets, Motorola is going to release many business applications.



According to the large retailer Carphone Warehouse, Motorola Xoom 2 will go on sale before the new year and will cost about 400 euros for a modification with 16 GB of memory and Wi-Fi.
