Twitter is testing new search features

Twitter microblogging service often introduces any new features that are designed to facilitate the work with the service for users. True, often introduced and new items, which, according to the administration, should help monetize the service. This time, the functions presented fall into the first category, that is, they were created to increase the efficiency of user interaction with the service itself.

New features are being tested: "top news" and "top people". The other day, a small part of Twitter users found that when entering a search query like “South Park”, the list of results displays not only tweets on a given topic, but also a link to relevant news posted at the top of the page. Only text and image from the news is displayed, without mentioning the author.

If a user tries to find a person who is quite popular in the microblogging service by means of the built-in search, then the full profile of such a user now appears at the top of the page. According to analysts, such functions, which are now undergoing testing, should help publishers to attract more traffic to their sites.

The service management has not yet commented on the emergence of the above functions, but we can expect the publication of official information on this issue in the near future. Probably, in case of successful testing, both functions will be expanded to the entire twitter audience.
