The other day came the long-awaited update for
Garageband . In my opinion, the most important changes are related to the ability to create
your own chords for Smart Instrument and to
change the key in an arbitrary place of the composition without transposing the already recorded fragments.
In the previous version, it was difficult to perform any complicated thing using “robots-guitarists”. When choosing the key, Garagesband offered a certain sequence of chords, perhaps the most universal, but far from exhaustive. The change of tonality in general led to a distortion of all previously recorded sections (in fact - to damage). In the current version of these problems there is no trace. Autotransportation can be disabled. And with chords you can do almost anything your heart desires. Here's what it looks like:

Naturally, the first desire was to test innovations. And this is how the correct key change (Em-C) now looks like: a
demo track (3 smart tools are used).

Very pleased with the possibility of better sound export: VBR, lossless. Previously, the bitrate was limited to only 192 kbps.
Interesting (but not yet fully tested) innovations include: support for 3/4 and 6/8 clock sizes, the Smart Keyboard arpeggiator, and customizable note strength parameters for touch instruments.
Full list of changes - on the official
page of the program .
Without exaggeration, the update can be considered revolutionary. Hopefully, further improvements will be aimed at turning a musical toy into a professional product. To the joy of us.
