It is clear that they took the threat very seriously. The decision to cancel the operation was announced by two Mexican activists Anonymous - Skill3r and Glyniss Paroubek. “We do not want to be the cause of the deaths of the participants,” they said in the pages of the Mexican newspaper Milenio. “We discussed the situation in detail and decided to stop the operation.” On the Anonymous Mexico Facebook page, it was announced that Anonymous has nothing to do with the already published information about the drug cartel's accomplices, in particular, the hacking of the site of one of the Mexican politicians.

At the same time, it is possible that the English-speaking participants of Anonymous outside Mexico did not participate in this discussion and are not going to cancel the plans of war with the drug cartel.
