"Hidden places": IT and Telecoms

Some time ago, Habry readers raised a painful question - job change. At the same time, the survey showed that the main reason for leaving to another company is the prolonged absence of an increase in labor compensation (this was the answer given by a quarter of respondents or 1,827 people).

And just yesterday a study by Penny Lane Personnel recruiting agency is published, in which the IT and telecom industry is one of the most stable and desirable (after the investment). Largely due to high salaries, increased market volume and demand for IT professionals.

However, to identify the "hospital average" salary in our segment is not easy. For example, according to the statistics of the Yandex-Work service, the salaries of typical IT and Telecom sector positions are commensurate with the salaries of taxi drivers and manicurists.

Of course, the level of compensation for “expensive” positions is rarely voiced in job descriptions - the numbers are agreed by the parties at the interview, and it turns out that the real salaries of technical specialists sometimes differ from those of working portals.

However, this is not the only difference between the study of Penny Lane Personnel and the “popular opinion” of habravchan. According to the recruitment agency, “experts who provide IT-activity for companies for 3-4 years already feel unprepared for a job change. Those who gave one company five or more years are optimistic about the future in this particular place of work. ”
However, 21.79% of those who took part in the habrahabr.ru survey noted the lack of professional growth (1566 people), and 5% are ready to change the situation, just not to “stay too long” in one place.

Our internal statistics, on the one hand, confirms the trend marked by Penny Lane Personnel - the longer a person works at Gars Telecom, the less his desire to part with the company (and the company with it). In total, 21% of the company's employees have been working with us for more than 5 years (a quarter of which is practically from the day of its foundation), 25% gave the company 3-4 years of their life, 28% have been working for 1-2 full years. At the same time, colleagues working for 1-2 years represent the most “active” layer - after this period Gars Telecom leaves the largest number of employees.
