BlackBerry Bold 9900 and BlackBerry Curve 9360 first-ever smartphones that have received a MasterCard PayPass certificate

On October 26, 2011, the BlackBerry Bold 9900 and BlackBerry Curve 936 NFC smartphones were certified by MasterCard Worldwide as PayPass devices.

The certificate was issued to BlackBerry smartphones that meet MasterCard security requirements and provide functionality and compatibility. With this certificate, any bank in the world that issues MasterCard PayPass cards must provide support for a MasterCard PayPass account for these smartphones.

There are more opportunities that allow consumers to take advantage of BlackBerry certified smartphones for NFC payments. France Telecom - Orange is confident that NFC technologies have the potential to make the next revolution, which will provide an additional connection of the digital mobile world with the material world.
