Anonymous has challenged the Mexican drug cartel. Hackers threaten to declassify couriers and dealers, as well as publish photos and names of drug cartel supporters (from police officers to taxi drivers) and fully disclose the business of a criminal organization if they do not release Anonymous group member abducted during a street protest in Veracruz (Mexico).
“You made a big mistake by capturing one of ours. Let him go. If something happens to him, you (expletive) remember forever the day of November 5th, ”an Anonymous representative says in a published
video (original in Spanish, transcript in English
here ). The video was released on October 6, a month was given to the drug cartel, and after a few days this period ends.
The abduction was organized by the famous Mexican organized criminal group Zetas. According
to the former head of the US Drug Enforcement Administration, a drug cartel should take the threat from hackers seriously, because publishing such information can cause them tangible damage.
