Final Opera Startup Awards

October 29, 2011 in St. Petersburg will host the finals of the Opera Startup Awards . A unique format was invented by the organizers this spring in order to test in practice the ability to create projects for a specific technology. The competition was organized by the QD business incubator and Opera Software ASA with the support of MTE’s master's program .

From April 15, 2011, a qualifying round and two semi-finals were held, 17 teams from all over Russia took part in the competition. Of these, 7 of the most promising went to the final - they were given the opportunity to work on projects in the business incubator, mentoring assistance and consulting support from the organizers.

Over the summer, 5 of 7 projects proved their viability and in the final event they will demonstrate the results achieved over the summer, on the basis of which the jury will determine the winners of the competition. In addition to the cash grants from the Opera company, gifts from the contest partners are expected - the company Begun, the oldest Russian contextual advertising operator. The organizers intend to continue to help the best projects, including attracting third-party investments to them.
