Last time I told you how to install an alternative firmware from Cyanogen on HTC Desire S, now let's figure out how to get the phone back to factory appearance.
Before reading, I recommend reading the previous article
Cyanogenmod 7.1 Firmware on HTC Desire SAs a rule, those who use custom firmware, rarely return to the factory. First of all, this is due to the fact that the vendor will release 1-2 updates for the device, and that’s all Amba. The product line has already been updated, and new firmwares are being written for it, thereby forcing the final bus meter to buy a new unit. It is clear that not everybody can afford buying a new modern and technological device every six months (or even more often), but oh, as much as you want, you can have new software chips. As a result, alternative ROMs for various devices, based on the firmware from the latest devices on the shelves, are spreading out on these your Internet sites. But still there are cases when the device must be returned to the factory form, usually it is connected with going to the SC (as a rule, if there is a “left” firmware in the device, the SC is denied warranty claims, so it’s better not to risk). Either with the sale of the device (many ignorant "in all these matters" people are confused by the intervention of "dirty paws" in stock configurations)
Introductory
So, given:
1. Communicator HTC Desire S - 1pc.
2. Custom firmware, for example CyanogenMod (or the other one — not fundamentally) - 1 pc.
3. Received S-OFF on the machine.
4. Recovery replaced by ClockworkMod
')
Task: return the device to its original state "out of the box"
Hop-hop Hiphop backup, do hiphop backup
You can backup in two ways:
1.
Save only data and programs - it is recommended to do it if you decide to say goodbye to this model of the communicator forever (sell, for example), but stay on the Android platform. Titanium Backup or similar programs can help here. This backup can be restored on any (almost) Android device on board.
2.
Save the entire ROM - it is recommended to do it, if in the future you plan to return to the same firmware (for example, after the device is returned from the SC). Go to recovery mode and select backup and restore. This backup can only be restored to HTC Desire S (not necessarily the same one)
Well, by itself, you can not do backup at all, if you are sure that it is definitely not needed.
Restore native ROM, HBOOT, S-ON and recovery
If before saving the custom firmware you saved the stock ROM, then let me congratulate you - you are an extremely sane person. Now it remains only to go into the recovery, and restore this ROM back. If there is no backup, or if it is lost, go to the
XDA and select the appropriate firmware version. Then install the
driver for USB and run the
flash driver . Just wait and voila!
After restoring the ROM, the firmware will be stock, recovery and root will disappear, but the S-OFF will remain and the version of HBOOT is absolutely left, and this is not a child's pale. It's okay, it's winable. We will need
this archive (for downloading, registration is required at w3bsit3-dns.com) We unpack the archive in any convenient place, for example c: \ EngSOff. After that, open the CMD with admin rights and perform several magic manipulations to get temporary root access:
cd c:\EngSOff adb push fre3vo /data/local/tmp/ adb shell chmod 777 /data/local/tmp/fre3vo adb shell /data/local/tmp/fre3vo -debug -start FAA90000 -end FFFFFFFF adb shell (
Now, without tearing down the device from the cord, we run Flash.bat from the same archive. If everything went well, you will see on the screen
SAGA PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-0.98.0002If not, then, without turning off the phone, repeat the whole operation again.
Conclusion
Well, that's all, my dear bushomizators. The device is in factory condition, it remains only to format the SD-shku with filling sectors with zeros, and you can sell. Well, or go to the SC, that's someone as lucky.
PSAnd remember, everything you do with your phone, you do at your own peril and risk. The author of the article is not responsible for damaged devices, nerves and other bathert associated with the re-flashing of YOUR device.
