CAD consolidation. Remote work on professional graphic stations
Now, DEPO Race graphic stations are available in a 1U version, which allows you to consolidate workstations of designers, designers or designers within a single data center. Work on remote graphic stations is carried out through a terminal client using the PCoIP protocol, which ensures the transmission of high-resolution and sharp images. Using this solution, the customer receives the centralization and reduction of the cost of ownership and maintenance of IT infrastructure.
The application of the DEPO solution for the consolidation of graphical hardware resources can be justified for organizations:
having a branch network without the possibility of local system administration and maintenance of a large fleet of graphic stations;
wishing to protect themselves from theft or damage of intellectual property;
not having the ability to install bulky and noisy graphic stations directly on the workplace;
are ISPs and provide rental services for graphic stations for work in resource-intensive graphic applications based on design, modeling, 3D animation and graphics processing.

The principle of operation of DEPO Sky Zero - solutions for remote access to the graphics station
The solution for remote work on a graphic workstation consists of two components: the host card, which is installed in the remote workstation, and the client device, which is installed on the user's workplace. The host card receives the video signal directly from the video card, and the sound and USB are transmitted to it via the PCI-E bus. The client device supports up to two monitors with a resolution of up to 1920 x 1200, the ability to connect audio and USB devices. The terminal is completely silent, has low power consumption and heat dissipation.
The solution provides the appropriate frame rate for working with 3D-graphics and HD-media due to hardware video processing. Communication between the host card and the client device takes place via Gigabit Ethernet using PCoIP protocol. It is possible to connect either directly to the device or via a local network (via the Internet via a VPN channel). In addition to automatically optimizing network traffic, settings are provided that allow you to change the compression ratio and limit the channel width. Channel loading depends on the intensity of the video stream. In the passive mode, with minimal activity on the desktop, the width of the stream is a few kilobits per second. When watching a video, this figure rises to tens of megabits per second.
The video shows how fast traffic drops when you pause.
Thus, for comfortable work in a professional 2D / 3D application, a connection with a channel width of 10 to 30 Mbps is required. To work with HD-video - from 80 to 180 Mbps.
Benefits of using
Reduced administration costs. The consolidation of all graphic stations within the server cabinet can significantly reduce the cost of support jobs. Centralized data backup mechanisms and the use of multi-level server fault tolerance technologies minimize the time spent on technical support for user workstations.
Fault tolerance and service life. Graphic stations are based on a server platform, which provides high performance, fault tolerance and long service life. Terminal clients do not have a classic operating system and moving parts, have a reliable component base, which ensures a long service life with miniature dimensions and low power consumption.
Security. Remote management provides protection against theft or damage of both the material and intellectual property of the company.
Along with 1U-graphic stations, the company DEPO Computers is completing the development of Blade solutions. Blade graphic station with remote access DEPO Sky Zero will be available by the end of the year.
