ASUS showed the first Zenbook

ASUS has introduced a line of ultrabooks. The first device, the 11.6-inch Zenbook UX21E from ASUS, received a dual-core Intel Core i5 processor, 4 GB DDR3 “RAM” and a 128 GB SSD drive. The body is made of aluminum alloy.

So far, the entire Zenbook series consists of the UX21E and UX31E models. The presentation of both mobile PCs was held at the ASUS conference, held in New York, USA. The UX21E is the most compact ultrabook in the ASUS model range. It is a mobile computer in a very thin metal case (minimum thickness - 3 mm, and maximum - 17 mm). Even the keys of the Zenbuk keyboard are made of metal. The metal chassis did not affect the weight of the UX21E - it weighs a little less than a kilogram. Zenbooks are built on the Intel Sandy Bridge platform, while the cost of beeches will be from $ 1000.

True, this refers to its minimum configuration, but it includes excellent hardware: a powerful dual-core Intel Core i5-2467M processor, 4 gigabytes of DDR3 standard memory and a 128 gigabyte SSD-drive, replacing the classic hard drive. The top of the range ASUS Zenbook UX31 includes an Intel Core i7-2677M CPU, 4 GB of RAM and a 256 GB SSD drive. Unlike the UX21E, which received a 11.6-inch display, the UX31E has a 13.3-inch screen with a resolution of 1600x900 pixels (the younger model supports only 1366x768 pixels).

In Russia, the launch of these laptops will be held on October 27.
