Another project on the Arduino: "predatory" display
The Arduino platform has been mentioned more than once on Habré, both in serious materials and in not-so-serious ones. Now I propose to evaluate the project of a craftsman, who are actually students of the School of the Art Institute from Chicago. It seems that among the students of this institute there are people who know very well how to deal with electronics. And these craftsmen have created an interesting project - a “predatory” display that reacts to the approach of a person.
The display shows us a grin, and probably all this close really looks scary. As soon as the device "feels" the approach of a person, the system immediately begins to act and "follow" the visitor. The video clearly demonstrates what the system is capable of. As mentioned above, it all works on the basis of Arduino, plus Open CV is used to process the video stream.

On Habré about this library (it is free) also wrote more than once. Movement tracking is simple - using the camera (it can be seen in the photo and video) and the corresponding software. Of course, there is no practical benefit from all this, but the system is quite interesting, you see. As another demonstration of the capabilities of the Arduino platform is quite a remarkable project.
