Timing in touch devices

The timing on the touch devices in the form of drums that need to twist, I always seemed uncomfortable. Well, in fact, to set the time you need to make a bunch of some obscure manipulations with surgical accuracy.
Drums do not rule

Firstly, when setting the alarm or setting an event in the diary, the timing with accuracy to a minute didn’t give up at all. It is even difficult for me to think of a situation in which it would be important to set the time of an event, for example, like 15:08, and not 15:10. Therefore, a smaller scale should be 5 minutes. With larger risks multiples of 15 minutes.

Secondly, you want to install time in one touch, because when you do it a lot and often (as in a diary, for example), turning one drum or the other is inconvenient.

As a result, you should get something like the following combo slider to set the time:
Select time on iPhone
')
On the vertical axis, you can quickly select the clock, and on the horizontal - minutes, with an accuracy of up to 5 minutes.

And how do you see a convenient way to select the time on touch devices?

UPD: Help, please, in the comments come up with real-life cases in which you want to set the time more accurately than with an accuracy of up to 5 minutes. Only not from the series "what if", but real ones. Well, for example, you set the alarm clock exactly at 7:07, since you like the number 7. :) It's just very interesting to collect such statistics, but here the reason is good.

UPD2: There was a lot of confusion. Hastily riveted the demo:

Timing occurs in one touch. Nowhere to aim and get - no need - the feedback does its job, makes it easy to understand what time is currently selected and feel what needs to be done to change it.

The first time 3-5 will be unusual. But then you can choose the time much faster than the drums. With frequent use of the calendar is important.
