Microsoft has found a partner to buy Yahoo

Yet the rumors that Microsoft still wants to acquire Yahoo, turned out to be a reality. According to The Wall Street Journal, the software giant has even found partners to jointly purchase Yahoo. The partners are Canada Pension Plan Investment Board and Silver Lake Partners. The group plans to make a joint bid (while Yahoo still does not confirm the fact of the possible sale of its assets). So far, the possible amount of the transaction is unknown, it is only known that Microsoft will invest "several billion dollars." But how many billions will go into action is unclear.

The rest will be provided by partners. In addition to these potential buyers, there are still interested. According to the same WSJ, we are talking about at least nine different private companies that are potential buyers of Yahoo. These, so far unknown, buyers are planning to make a purchase, based on a slightly overpriced share price of the company. Now the value of Yahoo shares is about 15.94 per share, but potential buyers are planning to offer a price based on the price of one share at $ 16-18.

Of course, this is not at all what could be obtained in January 2008. Then Microsoft offered a very high price of $ 44.6 billion, based on the price of $ 31 per share. But the founder and head of the board of directors (at the time) Jerry Yang refused the deal. All this led to the confrontation of two corporations, in which Yahoo lost. Young, under the pressure of the board of directors and shareholders, resigned as head of the company, after which the CEO became Carol Bartz.

Well, and as we remember, recently she was fired, and by phone. After that, Bartz reported that she plans to remain on the board of directors of Yahoo, but she couldn’t do this either, she had to leave the company.

Microsoft has not yet made any comments on the possibility of a new deal with Yahoo, but a bit later, the official response of the company may appear.
