46,000 people completed their first homework in ai-class

Everyone, of course, heard about the remarkable Stanford project, which allows you to remotely take many interesting courses, including artificial intelligence . Those who for some reason do not know about it, can read the article-announcement on Habré . Many, however, were quite skeptical about the whole undertaking, and some even calculated that there were very few views of training videos on youtube, about a thousand ( article on Habré ). However, today one of the course instructors, Peter Norvig, gave very encouraging information on his Google+ account:
#aiclass, congratulations to the 46,000 of you who did homework # 1. It’s a bit of a total of 134,000 of you’ve visited, you’ll be able to watch your videos. Welcome and thank you to all.

#aiclass, congratulations to those 46 thousand of you who did your first homework. Yesterday the site was visited by 134,000 of you; part - with the aim of completing the tasks, and part (which was enrolled in the basic course) - just to watch the training videos. Welcome and thank you to all of you.

It seems to me that this event can be interpreted as proof of concept and a very important step on the way to “education 2.0”. Congratulations to Stanford professors and colleagues who successfully complete the course :)
