Computers and gadgets for preschoolers

Not only other people's children grow rapidly, but also their own. My daughter has not yet been fulfilled for a year and a half, but she already thrilled her little hands on the keyboard with enthusiasm and felt genuine delight when the computer somehow responds to her chaotic actions. No wonder that manufacturers of computer hardware and toys for children have intensified in the direction of the development and production of “computers” intended for children of preschool age.

So, HP plans this fall to release a PC for families with young children, which will be supplied with the training software of JumpStart and a specially designed "child" OS in the form of an add-in for Windows. According to Sean Patterson, the main product manager of the consumer PC lineup from HP, "it was high time it was time to start producing computers with pre-installed development software."

LeapFrog company (toy manufacturer) went even further and announced ClickStart, a wireless “keyboard-computer” for children from 3 to 6 years old, which, firstly, will not break when it falls (from meter to meter) and, secondly, represents is a complete analogue of the usual QWERTY-keyboard. Complete with a frog-shaped (and a shape and color matching) keyboard comes with a “shock-resistant” mouse. The wireless signal connects the keyboard to the console, which connects to the TV, turning it into a computer monitor. Educational games, pre-installed in ClickStart, are mainly aimed at teaching children how to use the mouse and keyboard.

This list of gadgets for children does not end there. Many companies, such as Disney, Mattel and VTech, have either already announced or are planning to release devices specifically designed for children. Disney will sell a camera with video editing capability (for children from 6 years of age), Mattel also made a camera, only for girls (Girl Tech Video Journal) and IM-ME, an instant messaging device. VTech has released a "children's" laptop with development software.
