Run UNIX applications under Windows without changing the code
Microsoft has announced the beginning of the free distribution of its set of components for the organization of interaction between Windows and UNIX-based systems Windows® Services for UNIX (SFU). Now everyone can download version 3.5 of this package for free from the Microsoft web server. SFU 3.5 allows customers to make the most of their UNIX systems, while preserving Windows’s advantages in terms of price and performance. Using this package allows you to run UNIX-based applications under Windows, improves the performance of cross-platform tools and services, expands the capabilities of working with the UNIX command line, and inherited applications on UNIX to support Microsoft® .NET Web services. The high performance of SFU 3.5 was recognized by the jury of the LinuxWorld Product Excellence Awards in which it reached the final in the Best System Integration Solution category.
