Yes, this is not the first camera-ball, and this is not the first camera that can create 360-degree panoramas. But the project Throwable Panoramic Ball Camera ( Thrown Panoramic Ball Camera ) combined these two concepts in one foam sphere.

The camera rushes into the air and takes a picture at the highest point of the flight - when it practically does not move. The camera makes a complete spherical panorama, instantly and without preparation. She can easily take pictures with a large number of moving objects.

The camera uses 36 fixed-focus two-megapixel telephone camera modules. The modules are installed in a spherical body, which is filled with foam and holds the same way as a ball. The camera has an accelerometer, which determines the highest point of flight - at this moment the picture is taken. Having caught the camera-ball, you can immediately download images from USB, from which a special program will automatically create a spherical panorama.

The project was developed by Jonas Pfayl, who last year defended a diploma at the Technical University of Berlin on this topic, and is now looking for an investor for production.
