Document Foundation at the last LibreOffice Conference announced the beginning of the development of an Internet version of the office suite LibreOffice. Video of the prototype can be viewed at

The Internet version of LibreOffice is based on the GTK + framework and HTML5 canvas. It was developed by Novell employee Michael Mix on broadway GTK + Alex Larson from RedHat.
In addition, LibreOffice will be ported to Android and iOS. Finnish developer Thor Lillquist from Novell, known for porting GIMP to Windows, will take care of this.

The goal of porting LibreOffice to Android and iOS will be the ability to use the office suite on tablets, and ultimately on smartphones. Work on the user interface has not yet begun, but the bulk of the code is already compiled.
These two projects are expected to be ready for end users by the end of 2012 or the beginning of 2013.
The Document Foundation also reported that 500,000 computers, mostly on Windows, have been transferred from OpenOffice to LibreOffice at French government offices. which instantly increased the number of Windows systems from LibreOffice by 5%.
