Talk mode in Google Translate for Android now supports Russian language
At the beginning of this year, an experimental mode of conversation appeared in Google Translate for Android, allowing you to translate live speech from one language to another and vice versa. Then only English and Spanish were supported, but now support for 12 more languages, including Russian, is added.
When using the talk mode, the person speaks into the microphone of the telephone, and the application translates what was said and reproduces the translation aloud. The second person can answer in his own language, then the application will translate what he said into the language of the first person and also reproduce it. In addition to Russian, added support for Brazilian Portuguese, Italian, Chinese, Korean, German, Dutch, Polish, Turkish, French, Czech and Japanese. ')
The technology is still in alpha, so factors such as background noise and regional accents can affect accuracy. If Google Translate has identified your speech with errors, then you can correct the text of the replica before translating it.
When translating text, you can click on the magnifying glass icon to see the translated text in full screen mode - then you can simply show it to someone nearby.
The application is also optimized for large screens, in particular for tablets.
In general, Google Translate for Android now supports text translation for 63 languages, voice input for 17 of these languages, and text-to-speech for 24 of them.
