Release MonoDevelop 2.8.1

The first update to release 2.8 of the development environment for .Net, Mono, MonoTouch and MonoDroid platforms has been released. No innovations were made, but several very critical bugs were fixed, one of which led to the complete impossibility of editing the source code due to constantly popping error messages. Also fixed a set of problems with autocompletion, syntax highlighting and a few more minor, but unpleasant things.

The latest version for Windows and MacOS X can be downloaded from the official site , but there are still no packages for most Linux distributions, as well as for 2.8. However, as noted in the comments, regarding openSuSE and NLE, the inscription on the site about the absence of packages is brazenly deceiving.

Debian users (you will need to install mono from the experimental repository) and Ubuntu can optionally use my ppa , where you can find both this release and the package rebuilt with each commit in the github repository.
