200 million users already work with Google Chrome

Probably, this estimate is very approximate, but on Thursday, that is, yesterday, Larry Page announced it has reached 200 million users for the Google Chrome browser. The browser is still considered “new” by many, but it’s already three years old, so this isn’t such a new thing, time is running fast. Now the browser continues to gain popularity, perhaps even faster than ever.

So, in May, 160 million people worked with this observer, which is 40 million more than in December 210, and, accordingly, 40 million less than now. Interestingly, the eWeek site has long predicted 200 million Chrome users by October of this year.

It is worth noting that Google Chrome already has 15% of the browser market (this data is presented in an interesting infographic that can be found here ), and this share continues to grow. In the UK and some other countries, Google Chrome has already become the second most popular browser, ahead of Mozilla Firefox.

The development of the Google Browser is impressive - after all, relatively recently it was one of many alternative browsers, with a market share of less than one percent. Now it’s Chrome that sets the pace of development for Firefox (the developers of which even had to speed up the release of new versions of their own product), and IE. It is thanks to Chrome that Mozilla moved from version 4 to version 6 in less than six months. But the 4th version appeared three years after the release of the third "firestone".
