Again, autumn, again the world finals of overclocker competitions and again Russian overclockers participate! But for the first time, our team Team Russia made its way to the MOA final - Master Overclocking Arena. Thanks to MSI, I was able to attend this event (by the way, I was the only Russian-speaking journalist) to help the guys fight and of course tell you about what was happening in Taiwan’s capital Taipei on October 7, 2011. * Attention, a lot of photos! TRAFFIC! *

This is the fourth world finals, held under the auspices of the MOA, and the Russian teams have never been able to reach this stage. European qualifying competitions were held in Istanbul in spring 2011 and Team Russia, as part of Smoke and slamms, was able to pass the qualification sieve, taking third place.

Deep night Moscow time or early Taiwanese morning, the best overclockers of the world gathered in the sports center of the National Taiwan University to once again try on the skills of extreme overclocking.

Among the press there were also a lot of familiar faces, perhaps the most familiar of them, the Belgian Massman, who a couple of years ago terrified rivals and won some competitions after others.

Positive attitude on the faces of our guys.

Romanian Monstru (on the left) is fooling around a bit, and the massman (on the right) is puzzled at inspecting the participants; for the first time in a long time, he himself will not have to pour nitrogen into a glass and tune the system.

Huge advertising of the upcoming competitions and the Russian team poses for photographers.

Full list of participants with portraits and geographical location

All equipment was delivered in advance and exhibited for public viewing.

The competition was to be held on the following configurations:
- Processor: Intel Core i7 2600K
- Motherboard: MSI Z68A-GD80 (G3)
- Video Card: MSI N580GTX Lightning
- RAM: Kingston HyperX T1 DDR3-2133 2 * 2Gb (Hynix)
- Hard Drive: WD VelociRaptor WD3000HLFS
- Power supply: Thermaltake Toughpower 1350W
- Keyboard: TT eSPORTS Challenger Pro
- Mouse: TT eSPORTS Black Gaming Mouse

The competition rules included a competition in three tests: SuperPi 32M, 3D Mark 11 and 3D Mark 2001 SE. The selection of tests is very smooth, the first of them vividly depends on the frequency of the processor, the second perfectly responds to the frequency of the video core, and the third is combined and, in addition, is considered the best test of the participants' skills in fine-tuning the system.
The result was calculated as a percentage of the nominal system. The winner was determined by the amount of interest received in the three tests.

Judging the competition had the honor of the legend of world overclocking - giorgioprimo from Italy. For him, this is not the first experience, so there was no doubt in the order and justice.

The press center earned from the very first minutes and a live broadcast was conducted, including on our forum.

Competitors appeared from this improvised dota.

After the welcoming speech and the announcement of the rules, the main judge proceeded to the draw. The participants took out the paper with the number of the component set from the box and went to receive the green light from the assistant referees. Our guys got number 6.

Having quickly assembled the configuration, Smoke and slamms started setting up, but the motherboard turned out to be faulty and the guys were forced to waste time rebuilding the stand. The interim results after the first stage were quite encouraging - the Russians were able to take the fifth place, thus marking a good springboard for attacking prizes.

Our booth is on full alert

Legends of Russian overclocking at work.

Alas, 3D Mark 11 did not submit to overclockers from Team Russia. The weak overclocking of the video card caused a serious lag from the leader and it became clear that in order to fight for high final places, you need to accomplish a real feat in test number 3 - 3D Mark 2001 SE.
But the miracle did not happen ... Despite the very worthy struggle, as a result Team Russia did not manage to rise above 11th place, the cost of failure in the second stage was too high.
Imagine the rest of the participants:

In addition to the main competitions, their sponsors, Intel, NVIDIA, Western Digital, Kingston and Thermaltake, also demonstrated their new developments.

At the Intel booth, you could find a funny robot and a sweet young lady. However, they had the same functions - to attract viewers.

In addition, throughout the competition in the hall "partisan" three soldiers in green, everyone could take a picture with them.

Also in the hall one could see a lot of famous personalities in the world of overclocking and IT. The event was honored by the presence of kingpin and hicookie - the former leaders of the world rankings, Vince did not fail to offer a chance to share a few words with the current leader - Smoke from Team Russia.

Such is the sad talisman of the German team with the dead in extreme conditions motherboard and processor.

After the end of the competition, our guys received honorary diplomas and the ceremony of awarding the first five began.

The Japanese, who took fifth place, received as a prize a complete set of iron from their booth, certificates and statues.

Similar incentive prizes went to the Germans who took the 4th place from the BenchBros team.

The third Swedes from Team Expandables, in addition to this, received a check for 2000 USD.

Greek overclockers from HWBOX.gr got the opportunity to improve the economy in Greece by 2500 USD.

The champions - the Romanian Lab 501 team, consisting of Monstru and matose - got a check for 3000 USD.

A group photo of all the participants - no one was offended or displeased - the festive atmosphere was simply amazing.

Traditional interview from the top three teams. It should be noted that all three teams from Europe, and for the umpteenth time, it is the Europeans who dominate the stage.

Summary table with all the results.

Our guys certainly did not show their best overclock, but there is no reason to be upset. There will be more competitions and this was another experience that will no doubt come in handy in the further struggle for the top of the world ranking.

In conclusion, of course, I want to thank MSI for the excellent organization and holding of the event at a truly global level, and for the opportunity to attend this holiday of extreme overclocking. See you at the new competitions. Forward Team Russia!
