Bookeen launches e-ink reader with a new type of display

This company has long been threatening to release a reader with an improved screen type, but so far these have only been promises. Now the device has already appeared in our reality with you, and soon the device will go on sale. The reader was named The Cybook Odyssey, and it has a really improved display, created by HSIS technology (High Speed Ink System). The display device is 6 inches, nothing unusual in this case.

The reader must be quite fast and in terms of performance, since it is based on the Cortex A8 processor with a frequency of 800 MHz. The video below shows us a really fast display of the device, there are no “sticking” and close. And another good news for fans of such devices - the display at the reader touch. There is a wireless module WiFi, there are hardware buttons for scrolling through pages and performing other functions.

The developers included a browser in the software, which can finally work fine (I tried to somehow surf on PocketBook, this option is only for very patient people). The developers of Bookeen (French, by the way, the company) said in a press release that they worked mainly to improve the display speed, which was done. We have to think that with the advent of this reader in the market and other manufacturers will begin to move towards improving the performance of the display.
