Google developers are adding a new Chrome Remote Desktop feature to their new browser version. This feature will allow two users to get a direct connection with each other without using third-party software. Currently, this function is still undergoing testing, but its inclusion in the new version of Chrome can already be considered a reality. Chrome Remote Desktop will work in browsers under Windows, Mac OS and Linux.
It is also planned to add Chrome Remote Desktop to Google’s laptop software, which has long been known to all of us by the “code” name Chromebook. The appearance of a new function will happen this Friday, so you can prepare for testing and testing. Initially, the function of direct communication was conceived as a tool for business and for IT professionals, but, of course, Chrome Remote Desktop is also of interest to ordinary users.

Generally speaking, Google is going to implement much more than just one function. The corporation will “equip” its browser with an entire IP-telephony software system, called
WebRTC . All this is based on the technologies obtained by the company after the purchase of Global IP Solutions (recall that the deal was concluded last year). It is planned that WebRTC will be an alternative to the currently popular VoIP programs. With this technology it will be possible to hold teleconferences involving multiple users. Previously, the technology has already been
written on Habré .
The advantage of WebRTC is that no third-party software is required for teleconferencing, everything can be arranged using the means of the browser itself. Unfortunately, the date of the appearance of WebRTC is unknown. Well, and Chrome Remote Desktop, one might say, a touchstone from Google, will appear this Friday, as mentioned above.
