The world's largest manufacturer of office products Staples.com conducted a
survey of office workers on the topic that can make their office life more comfortable. The results of the survey were supposed to be used for public relations: they say that so many percent want more comfortable furniture, and so much more stylish interior, so that companies would think about buying new products in Staples stores.
In reality, it turned out quite differently. 41% of the interviewed employees to the question “How can we improve office life?” Desired not to put new printers, computers or stationery, but chose the option: “Allow work from home”.
In other words, almost half of office workers do not like the concept of office at all. With the development of technology, many people have ceased to understand why they should go through the whole city and gather in the same room with a group of such unhappy people.
Among those who took part in the survey, 44% chose the option “Get rid of office rules” (Eliminating office politics). This is a kind of alternative to remote work - to create an atmosphere in the office so that everyone can feel comfortable. It is desirable to completely cancel the dress code, allow food at any time, sleep at any time (that is, office buildings need to be equipped with kitchens and bedrooms), set a free work schedule, and so on. In general, do everything at home.

Cancellation of office rules is more important for people than upgrading computers and technical infrastructure or more comfortable office furniture.
But then it becomes even more incomprehensible - why should we spend 1-2 hours a day on the way to the office, if conditions are created there, like at home? This makes sense only for those people who cannot work effectively in their own homes (for example, students from the hostel, fathers of large families, residents of small-sized apartments, etc.).
