Five days on the Kindle Fire received more than 250 thousand pre-orders

Looks like the Amazon tablet, Kindle Fire, presented last Wednesday, can really be called successful. Since its presentation, more than 250,000 pre-orders have been received for this device. In any case, such data was received by journalists who communicated with the “source from Amazon”. The average number of pre-orders per day is 50 thousand, which is a very good indicator. If this rate continues, by the time the device becomes commercially available (November 15), users will order more than 2 million devices. These are much better results than HP , Acer , Asus , Blackberry combined.

Previously, opinions that "Kindle Fire sales could exceed iPad sales" were perceived as a joke. Now, no one is joking on this topic, since this becomes quite probable. The fact is that on the first day of opening sales of the tablet iPad from Apple, sold about 300 thousand of these devices, including those that were shipped on pre-order. The situation at RIM is worse - in the first quarter only 490 thousand Playbooks tablets were sold. Well, the head of Motorola even called selling the Xoom “not causing delight.

Perhaps this success of the Kindle Fire is not due to the very high cost of the device, which is much lower than most tablets from other manufacturers. Of course, the configuration of the device is different from the iPad, Motorola and other tablets, there is no camera, microphone and 3G communication module. Perhaps all this is not so necessary for buyers. Amazon did not try to make its tablet look like devices from other manufacturers, on the contrary, it is very different from them in its configuration and interface.

It seems that the Kindle Fire will avoid the fate of other Android-based tablets that were expected to do a lot and that did not meet the expectations of the manufacturers. By the way, some large companies have already abandoned the production of such devices, or have decided to “postpone” the creation of new models.
