Dell began selling computers with Ubuntu in Europe
According to the Direct2Dell blog today, Dell has decided (a press release ) to expand the range of PCs sold to it in Europe by starting sales of computers with Ubuntu Linux pre-installed. Let me remind you that buyers in the United States since May have the opportunity to purchase a laptop or Dell desktop, equipped with free software. Now this opportunity has appeared in residents of the UK, Germany and France.
Only two Linux models are available now: the Inspiron 6400 laptop and the Inspiron 530N desktop PC. This is due to the fact that for these models, technical support is already well established and an extensive FAQ database has been accumulated in specialized forums maintained by the user community itself.
As well as the American, European computer Dell with installed Ubuntu is completed, as far as possible, only opensource-drivers.
