Mail.Ru Agent 3.0 for iOS: New Interface, Traffic Saving, and More
Today we want to tell you about the release of a new version (3.0) of Mobile Agent for the iOS platform. To improve the performance of our “apple” application, we implemented a number of technical and interface improvements.
In addition, we have completely unified the network stack with the client for MacOS X, which now allows us to support all the features developed for the Mac version on the iOS version, and vice versa. For example, now we can correctly display messages from conferences in the iOS client, using the existing work for the Mac client.

Also, the iOS client now supports gzip-compression of traffic, which not only significantly increases data transfer speed, which is important when using the fastest mobile Internet, but also helps save money when using GPRS.
We should start the story about interface changes by updating the dialog window - we freed up the maximum space for the message history in the dialogue screen with the contact, and generally made the window simpler - we removed the rarely used functions into a separate menu, and the key ones made more noticeable.
Extended presence statuses have been added that are popular on other platforms — along with the main 5 statuses, 48 additional ones have appeared, and the name of each status can be determined by the user.
Finally, we did support the display of the music being played in the interlocutor's music player.
In conclusion, I want to add that soon iOS and MacOS users will be able to communicate through ICQ and XMPP clients through the Agent’s account, we are actively working in this direction.
