We provide a method for realistically adding artificial objects to existing photos, without requiring the need to access the scene or other additional dimensions. Using one image and a small number of annotations, our method allows you to create a physical scene model that is suitable for rendering artificial objects with scattering, specular or even luminous surfaces on it, taking into account the interaction of illumination between objects and the scene.

The images obtained in the study using our method are similar to real scenes, even for people who believe that they can find the difference. In addition, research shows that our method is competitive with other methods of adding objects to images, but at the same time requires less information about the scene. We also collected new datasets of lighting and reflections and the rendering results with their use are comparable to real images. Our system can be used in the film industry and the computer games industry, home decorating and in the creation of new design objects, as well as in many other things.
