TV as a monitor

I decided to buy a new monitor, bigger in size than my Samsung 215TW. I wanted something in the region of 24-27 inches with a normal matrix (* VA, IPS) and an RCA input (sometimes needed), I was ready to spend fifteen thousand.

In principle, in the region of 10 thousand there is now a good choice of 23-24 "monitors on IPS and * VA. But from 27" is worse, only TN is for this money. When RCA was added to the search engine, even among 24 "only TN remained. Either the price jumped up to 20-30 thousand. It became sad.

But then I remembered the rumor that the correct matrices were being placed on large televisions. I went to investigate this issue and it turned out that this is indeed the case - in many 32 "and above are IPS and * VA matrixes. Therefore, an inexpensive 32" TV was bought (LG 32LK430, 12,700 rubles, IPS matrix).
At first, the picture looked terrible, in spite of all attempts to set the image enhancement to a minimum. But in the end it turned out that it’s enough just to specify in the input settings that a computer is connected to it - and that’s it, the enhancers automatically turned off, leaving only brightness and contrast to adjust.
After that, we only had to turn off scaling in the video card drivers (Overscan in ATI terminology), otherwise the image was not on the whole screen. Just in case, I put the pixel Full RGB 4: 4: 4 - recommended for TVs (although I didn’t see any particular difference).

After all these manipulations, the picture made me happy, and even the computer started working significantly faster (although this may be due to the fact that I replaced the C2D E5200 with the Pentium G860, finished the RAM up to six gigabytes and put it under the SSD Agility3 system :)).

Of course, the TV still needs to be calibrated so that the colors on both monitors become more or less similar, but they are satisfied with the purchase. So inexpensive TVs are a good option for those who want to buy a FullHD monitor around 30 inches. Strongly large diagonals on the table will look bad - the pixel becomes very large. Well, we must bear in mind that the 27-30 monitors have a higher resolution than 1920x1080. But they are significantly more expensive than 400 bucks for the TV.
