Samsung introduced the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus

Amazon Kindle Fire was not the only 7-inch Android tablet presented this week. A compact device called the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus has been added to the Samsung Galaxy Tab tablet family.

The new tablet will be equipped with a dual-core processor with a frequency of 1.2 GHz, Android 3.2 Honeycomb platform and 1 GB of RAM. It will have a 7-inch screen with a resolution of 1024 × 600 pixels, 16 or 32 GB of disk space and a 3-megapixel camera (plus a 2-megapixel front for video chat).

It supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 3.0, as well as 3G / HSPA, and all this Samsung was able to fit into a case 9.96 mm thick and weighing 345 g.

The characteristics of the device are slightly worse than the model similar to it, the Galaxy Tab 7.7, which Samsung introduced a month ago at the IFA exhibition in Berlin. However, the key information about the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus is still missing: its price.

The tablet looks very interesting when compared to the Kindle Fire, in which there is no camera, but which costs $ 199. If Samsung manages to keep the price difference with Fire within $ 100, then the new device could become an interesting option on the rapidly growing market for 7-inch tablets.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus will go on sale in Indonesia and Austria at the end of October, and then appear in the US, Europe and the rest of the world.
