Increasingly popular and relevant are technologies for developing applications that use the computing resources of graphics accelerators (GPUs) at full capacity. Today, almost every computer and laptop is equipped with a graphics adapter with huge computing power that can potentially be used by applications to significantly speed up computing.
One of the latest results of Microsoft's research in computing in a heterogeneous environment (a bunch of CPU + GPU) was the
announcement of the C ++ AMP platform , which allows you to fully utilize all the capabilities of modern multi-core processors and GPUs. The announcement of the platform was made at the AMD Fusion'11 conference this summer; you can read more about this in this
blog post . At the same event, built-in debugging and profiling of GPU code in the next generation of Visual Studio was announced. Detailed reports on the new platform were also
read at the recent BUILD conference.
We are pleased to inform you that at
Tech β Ed Russia 2011 you will be able to learn firsthand about the new features offered by the C ++ AMP platform and new GPU code tools that will be built into the next generation of Visual Studio development environment. A special report entitled β
Introduction to the C ++ AMP heterogeneous computing platform and GPU tools in Visual Studio 11 β will be read by Maxim Goldin, a guest from Redmond, who works at Microsoft as a senior development engineer in the Visual Studio group for you.
')

During his time at Microsoft, Maxim Golddin was directly involved in the release of several versions of the Visual Studio product - VS2005, VS2008 and VS2010 and is currently working on the next version of the product. Prior to joining Microsoft, Maxim worked for 8 years at Intel, specializing in developing technologies for simulating the operation of modern microprocessor devices.
At the Tech β Ed Russia 2011 conference, Maxim Goldin will read two presentations: one about C ++ AMP technology and work with GPUs and the second one no less important about
new Visual Studio ALM tools .
