Like many of those who constantly visit habrahabr, I often check the main page for new articles, until one fine moment I got the idea to create an informer that would hang on the tray, whether my browser was launched or not, and I checked the update on the main page. page, if there is one, then I opened the program in the tray and watched which articles are currently on the main page. Next, clicking on the desired link - immediately got into the browser to the desired page.


As a result, I received a QT program that performs all this.

Using

Download the finished file “application” for linux (after downloading to the binary, do not forget to set the execution rights) or windows-start the program, minimize it to tray and go about your business as soon as the tray icon changes, open the program and see what changes were received , if you click something interesting -> you get into the article.

In Windows, it also works, but pulls libraries along (libgcc_s_dw2-1.dll, mingwm10.dll, QtCore4.dll, QtGuid4.dll, QtNetwork4.dll, QtXml4.dll).

What is planned in the next series

There are a number of ideas for improving this program and in the presence of free time I will improve it.
- Create separate threads for: new topics, zahabrennye, sandbox, questions.
- The possibility of authorization: tracking personal messages, tracking tapes, tracking new comments in selected topics.

I am very interested in advice from a user point of view, as it would be more convenient for someone to use such a program.
